
Coach Chris began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2001 under Roberto Marques da Silva. After relocating to Virginia, Chris continued his training under Pedro Sauer in 2009. That same year, he expanded his martial arts background by beginning Judo training under Maurice Allen.
Today, Coach Chris holds black belts in both Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Judo, viewing them as complementary expressions of the same art.
Chris remains deeply committed to training, teaching, and evolving his skills, with a particular interest in No-Gi grappling and he teaches the advanced adult no-gi BJJ class on Tuesday and Thursday evenings — for current class times, see the academy’s training schedule.
Coach Dan Chamberlain is a 3rd degree black belt under Professor Pedro Sauer and a lead instructor at Pedro Sauer Academy in Herndon, VA.
Coach Dan teaches both gi and no-gi BJJ classes for adults as well as BJJ classes for kids and teens — refer to the academy schedule for a complete list of classes.

Coach T has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 2007 exclusively under Pedro Sauer.
Coach T teaches the Monday evening Adult Gi BJJ class and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for kids and teens, with a strong focus on self-defense, real-world application, and giving students the

Gustave “Gus” Anderly began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2008 at Linxx Academy in Virginia Beach, where he developed a strong technical foundation and a lifelong passion for the art. In 2010, Gus continued his training at One Spirit Martial Arts (OSMA) Headquarters, further refining his skills under the academy’s experienced instructors.
In 2021, Gus earned his black belt under Master Sauer, marking the culmination of years of dedication, perseverance, and continuous learning.
Since then, he has remained committed to both his own development and the growth of others on the mats.
Gus’ instruction reflects his belief that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is not only an effective martial art, but also a lifelong journey of personal growth, discipline, and mutual respect.
Gus teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu lessons for adult students on Tuesday and Friday mornings at Pedro Sauer Academy, where he emphasizes technical precision, practical application, and a welcoming environment for students of all experience levels.

Aaron Eichenlaub is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under the Pedro Sauer Association and a longtime member of the academy.
Aaron has trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for over 14 years and has earned every belt directly from Master Pedro Sauer.
Aaron’s training has taken him beyond the academy as well, including multiple trips to Brazil to train with Master Sauer and other
association members, along with extensive training at respected schools around the world.
Those experiences have shaped his deep appreciation for technical detail, strong fundamentals, and the lifelong learning process of Jiu-Jitsu.
As an instructor, Aaron is especially passionate about helping students build a solid foundation. Aaron helps teach the White, Blue, and Purple Belt curriculum, with a focus on clear instruction, practical understanding, and steady technical development.

Tom Luke has trained under Pedro Sauer since 2012 at One Spirit Martial Arts (OSMA) in Herndon, VA, now known as Pedro Sauer Academy of Self-Defense (PSA).
A lifelong student of the martial arts, he believes in maintaining a beginner’s mindset, continually refining the fundamentals, and ensuring techniques stand up under live resistance.
Tom holds black belt ranks in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Karate, Tae Kwon Do, and Hapkido.
Tom is passionate about helping students develop confidence, technical skill, and a lifelong appreciation for learning.

Eva Katcher is a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt under Pedro Sauer.
Coach Eva began her training in early 2013 at the age of 51 and earned her black belt in 2024, receiving every belt directly under Professor Sauer.
Eva brings a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to her teaching, with a strong focus on gi-based Jiu-Jitsu and leads the Academy’s Women’s Self-Defense Program and teaches the Youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class on Fridays, where she emphasizes fundamentals, confidence, and practical application.

With a background spanning music, yoga, early childhood education, and martial arts, Coach Mary brings a unique perspective to the Pedro Sauer Academy. A natural multisensory approach to teaching from toddlers through adults laid the foundation for a martial arts journey that began with teaching Krav Maga to young children and led to a deep connection with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
A blue belt and coach in both the youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes and Força Beatles BJJ programs, she is committed to giving every young student the strongest possible start.

For the past nine years, Kevin has trained in Muay Thai under the World Thai Boxing Association.
Kevin’s classes focus on strong fundamentals, proper technique, conditioning, coordination, respect, and safe training habits.

A committed martial arts practitioner at Pedro Sauer Academy and, previously at One Spirit Martial Arts in Herndon, VA, Coach Guy has trained for over twelve years and during this time studied under Guro/Kru Krysta Scharlach and has had the opportunity to learn from many accomplished fighters and instructors.
Guy’s training has included exposure to Guro Dan Inosanto, Ajarn Chai Sirisute, Professor Pedro Sauer, Jeff Curran, Mike Matthews, Mark McFann, and others.
Guy has spent much of his professional career in several fields of service, including a long period in public safety. Guy’s background includes work as a lifeguard, personal trainer, range safety officer, firearms instructor, and security contractor.
These experiences have given Guy a unique perspective on self-defense disciplines and he continues to refine himself and help his fellow martial artists in the pursuit of greater knowledge and understanding of MMA and combat sports.
Coach Guy teaches Kali and Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) classes on Monday and Wednesday evenings as well as on Saturday mornings and afternoons — refer to the academy training schedule for exact times.
