Practical self-defense
Position, leverage, escapes, and safe control taught in an age-appropriate format.

Youth Brazilian Jiu-jitsu · Herndon, VA
A safe, structured program where young students build practical self-defense, coordination, focus, and confidence.
More than a martial art
Students learn in a positive room where good technique, thoughtful effort, and respect matter more than size or athletic ability.
Position, leverage, escapes, and safe control taught in an age-appropriate format.
Clear drills and achievable challenges help students stay composed and keep learning.
Progress comes through consistency, teamwork, and respect for training partners.

Weekly schedule · Ages 7–16
New students can begin at any point. Youth training serves ages 7–16; students who are ready for larger partners may transition into adult classes around age 14 based on size, maturity, technical control, and coach guidance.
How we teach
Coaches break movements into clear steps, pair students thoughtfully, and keep live practice supervised. The goal is useful skill without sacrificing safety or a welcoming atmosphere.
Our approach reflects the Pedro Sauer Association emphasis on leverage, mechanics, technical depth, and a mat where students feel supported.
