Program Description

Our Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program offers ongoing gi and no-gi training for adults and teens ages 16 and older.

Led by Professor Pedro Sauer black belt instructors, classes combine structured instruction, practical skill development, and a welcoming environment for beginners and experienced students alike.

Class Format

Both gi and no-gi sessions, each combining guided technique instruction with live training (rolling).

Weekly Schedule

Instructors

Adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes at Pedro Sauer Academy (PSA) are typically led by one or more experienced black belt instructors and supported by one or more assistant coaches, giving students the opportunity to receive individual guidance and feedback throughout each class.

Who this class is for

Adults and teens ages 16 and above are welcome to attend this class.

PSA instructors work with students of all experience levels, helping each person develop their BJJ skills in a supportive and structured training environment.

What you'll learn

Each class includes instructor-led technique instruction followed by live training (rolling), giving students the opportunity to practice and apply what they’ve learned in a controlled environment.

Built on Professor Pedro Sauer’s Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu system, the curriculum covers fundamental positions, escapes, submissions, guard passing, sweeps, takedowns, and positional control while emphasizing proper technique, leverage, and timing.

Escapes and Defenses

Breaking out of common holds, dominant positions, and real-world attack scenarios.

Submissions

Chokes, arm locks, leg locks, and finishing techniques from multiple positions.

Takedowns

Wrestling and Judo-based takedowns adapted for BJJ and self-defense.

Positional Drilling

Guard passing, guard retention, sweeps, and transitions between positions.

Live Training

Situational sparring, full rolling, and strategy development against resisting partners.

Submission grappling

No-gi and catch wrestling concepts directly applicable to competition and self-defense.
