Herndon, Reston, Dulles, Oak Hill, and Sterling

Common approaches use Elden Street, Reston Parkway, Fairfax County Parkway, Route 28, Route 7, or the Dulles Toll Road. Reston students can use our detailed Reston guide.

Fairfax County

South & southeast of Herndon

Chantilly, Centreville, Fair Oaks, Fairfax, and Oakton

Students commonly use Route 28, Fairfax County Parkway, West Ox Road, or local roads through Oak Hill. Families should compare after-school class times with the evening commute.

Route 7 & east

Great Falls to McLean

Great Falls, Vienna, Tysons, and McLean

Depending on the neighborhood, students may use Route 7, Baron Cameron Avenue, Georgetown Pike, or the Dulles Toll Road. Great Falls and north Vienna are often most direct; Tysons and McLean vary more at rush hour.

Loudoun County

Eastern Loudoun communities

Ashburn, Broadlands, Cascades, Potomac Falls, South Riding, and Leesburg

Students often reach Herndon using Route 28, Route 7, Waxpool Road, or the Dulles Greenway and Toll Road. Cascades, Potomac Falls, and eastern Sterling are among the closest Loudoun areas.
